I can’t tell you how often people tell me how guilty and ashamed they feel that they are not making time to go to that meditation group, yoga class, healing center, or practitioner that is going to balance out their lives. They believe that getting to such resources is going to make them better people, parents, partners, and employees. “If only I could find the time,” they say. “I wish I had the energy.”

I feel the same way. The end result of these classes and experiences over time can bring such a wonderful sense of peace and wellbeing. Feeling better does make us better, in fact, at all the roles we play in life. However, because we are working as hard as we are, and sitting in traffic to and from work, and juggling both work and family, all our obligations, as well as the high expectations we have of ourselves, are exhausting us! Being this tired, makes us more sensitive, vulnerable, and in need of getting home to be in our cocoon. NO ONE can fault us for that.

Let’s accept all these realities and do what we can at home to get more of the feelings that come from getting to a class or healing practitioner. I want you to have access to as many free or inexpensive resources as possible. Here’s how to get the most healing for the smallest price:

ONE: Magnesium! Oral ways of taking magnesium are potently effective for soothing the nervous system. For example, there are stir-in powders for water that are easily digestible. In addition, magnesium is contained in Epsom salts. I soak in an Epsom salt bath as often as I need to throughout the week. The salts extract toxins from the body while simultaneously promoting the body to absorb healing Magnesium through every pore of the skin. A minimum of 20 minutes in a warm Epsom salt bath is therapy. It leaves us feeling more calm and balanced.

TWO: VOO! I don’t care anymore how crazy it sounds. There is too much science now backing the need to vibrate open the Vagus Nerve. When we do, we strongly turn on the parasympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system to reboot the brain-body into regeneration and rejuvenation. We can heal ourselves by keeping our Vagus Nerve in a more expanded (rather than constricted) state. Here’s how:

THREE: Listen to my APP! I created it to be an inexpensive way for you to have healing sessions at home in your pajamas, whether you are laying back in your bed, cozying up in your comfy chair or soaking in your Epsom salt bath. I combine these tools on a regular basis, often VOO-ing in the bath, and it makes all the difference to the overall state of my nervous system. Put your headset in and listen to my voice leading you through the most potent decompressing tools that science knows. The tools will lower your heart rate, blood pressure, and stress hormones so that your brain-body can once again more easily release Serotonin and other “happy” neurotransmitters and hormones throughout the brain-body.

The idea that we are going to live as stressfully as we do, and not accept that we must proactively and on a daily basis use soothing sensory tools to offset, reset, and reboot is just nuts! We must actively bring back our brain-bodies into equilibrium. Come on, folks, please stop spending so much money and/or beating yourself up for not getting to a class. Simply take anywhere from 60 seconds to 30 minutes a day for healing. It adds up over time, and everyone around you will notice the difference and say thank you.
